Here at Great Wedlock Deer Park we have a number of stunning Red Deer and none as big and beautiful as our Monarch Stag called King.

King has a second in command, his first born son, who has the honour himself as being called a Monarch Stag. In deer terminology, a “monarch deer” typically refers to a stag (male deer) with a particularly large number of tines (points) on its antlers, usually 16 or more. These magnificent animals are also known as “monarchs of the glen”. A stag with 12 tines is considered a “royal” stag, and one with 14 tines is an “imperial” stag.

Now this boy needs a name. Our competition is to name him (all non appropriate names will not be considered as we are a family park).

The winner will get a free family of 4 entry to our Park and be taken round on a Safari to meet the boy himself and see the rest of our herd.
